EU Alternatives- Built for Data Privacy Compliance

The GDPR protects personal information by ensuring it is processed lawfully and transparently. Companies need to demonstrate compliance with the GDPR and take steps to ensure that they are not collecting more data than necessary for any given project or service.

The penalties for non-compliance with the European Privacy Law are severe: fines can reach up to 20 million euros or 4% of global turnover (whichever is larger).

GDPR alternative approaches for compliance

If the GDPR is a source of headache for your business — whether due to budget, process, or policy concerns — you may wish to consider using an EU cloud solution or collaboration platform.

These services are designed specifically with privacy laws in mind and provide a single-sign-on feature that allows users to access applications without needing multiple passwords.

They also have built-in compliance features such as data encryption, geo-location restrictions, and employee training programs

.

Alternatives to AdSense

If you don't want to use AdSense, some alternatives won't put you at risk of non-compliance with data privacy law. Brave is an open-source web browser that blocks ads by default and replaces them with its own cleaner ads.

Adhese is another option—it's free and lets users pay to remove ads from their favorite sites while supporting those sites with micro-payments (the website has more information about how this works).

Alternatives to AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure

If you're looking for an alternative to AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure, consider UpCloud from Finland.

This company has been around since 2014 and boasts a 99.9% uptime guarantee. Its pricing model is on par with other top global providers: $0.049 per hour (billed monthly) or $0.071 per hour (billed annually).

Combell is another European provider that uses the same pricing model as UpCloud — even down to the last penny! You can expect to pay $0.0503 per hour when billed monthly or $0.0925 annually (around €1/month).

Hetzner offers a free trial period of 30 days, during which users get unlimited resources at no cost whatsoever; if you require additional resources after this trial period has elapsed, you can choose between two tiers: €99 ($112) per month for up to 1000 hours or €399 ($437) per month for unlimited access without any restrictions whatsoever.

Bahnhof offers two tiers: one priced at £3 ($4), which includes 1GB RAM/50GB disk space/1TB bandwidth, and another priced at £8 ($10), which includes 5GB RAM/500GB disk space/5TB bandwidth.

Alternatives to Gmail, GSuite, and Microsoft Office. (Data Privacy)

You can use a tool like Cryptpad, Tresorit, or Filen.io to store your data in a private cloud ready for you to access from anywhere.

You'll need an account on the free and open-source software (FOSS) platform Github if you want to use Cryptpad, which is an application that enables users to encrypt the content using end-to-end encryption and make it accessible only with their private keys.

This means that even if someone gained access to your encrypted files, they wouldn't be able to read them unless they had your private key.

Tresorit allows you to share files with others securely by creating groups of users who each have their own set of keys for accessing shared folders/files.

So only those who are invited into the group can access shared folders/files within that group – but anyone outside of the group still won't be able to see what's inside those folders/files even if they manage somehow get hold of them through some other means (e.g., hacking).

In a nutshell

If you're unsure whether you need to comply with EU privacy legislation, ask yourself if you're collecting personal data—anything from an e-mail address to a social security number.

If so, then yes: You need to comply with it! If your users are in Europe and interacting with your site/service/app through an IP address located anywhere else on the globe, then that user's information could also get caught up in this law.

You can save millions of dollars in fines with the help of Adzapier Consent Management Platform and comply with not only the EU’s GDPR but also California CCPA/CPRA and all other global data privacy laws around the world.
